© Oetinger AudioI have finished all Foley recordings for the German radio play "KRÄHE UND BÄR" by Martin Baltscheit, spoken by Lina Beckmann, Wolf Frass, Charly Hübner and Robert Missler.

Sound design & mix by radio play veteran Kay Poppe, published by Oetinger Audio.

I have done the complete Foley performance, recording and editing for the sci-fi feature film "KILL COMMAND" by director/writer Steven Gomez, starring Vanessa Kirby, Thure Lindhardt and David Ajala.

For this ambitious and VFX-heavy action film I recorded a lot of soldier steps for the different characters e.g. in the woods or an abandoned bunker building, as well as some nice military gear handling and movements. But being set in the near future, it was also great fun to come up with some new stuff to perform solid but at the same time light-weight high-tech weapon handling.

Sound design and mixing by my friends at Sound Disposition, London.
Cinema release in UK is on May 13th.

Nick Love's (The Firm, The Sweeney) new feature film "AMERICAN HERO", starring Stephen Dorff and Eddie Griffin, has been released in USA!

I have performed, recorded and edited all the Foley sounds (including several tracks for a squeaky wheelchair). My friends at SoundDisposition did all the sound design in London and mixed at The Post Republic Hamburg/Berlin.

A very special 12min short film is finished: "HOCHBRÜCKE BRUNSBÜTTEL" by director Karsten Wiesel is an abstract documentary about a huge 40m-bridge over the canal connecting North Sea and Baltic Sea in Northern Germany.

For this project I teamed up with avantgarde-composer Gregory Büttner. During 3 days of shooting on location, we captured a lot of 8-channel surround audio material from outside and inside the building. Recordings were made on a SoundDevices 788T with either 4 contact microphones and a quad IRT-cross at the same time, or with two M/S booms replacing the contact mics.

This project has always been thought as sound installation and live performance as well, so the picture/sound editing concept for the linear film format was developped through audio-visual live improvisation. The 5.1 sound design is now based on experimental and artistic (but dramaturgically consistent) sound montage techniques of the recordings, playing with (a-)synchronicity, reality and perception.

Together with the quiet but powerful pictures by photographer Sin Huh, this results in far more than a "normal architecture documentary": The portrait of the bridge has become an impressive monument itself, an exciting audio-visual sculpture.

"Best Short Film" winner at Film Festival Schleswig-Holstein 2015.

I have done all sound editing, sound design and 2.0 mix for the feature film on the incredible "RED BULL STORM CHASE" by directors Florian Gebbert and Jobst von Paepcke.

The RB Storm Chase is the "most challenging windsurfing contest of all time":
Once a stable storm low is about to hit a coast somewhere on earth, both the best windsurfers of the world and the whole crew have only 48 hours left to travel there. In three storms, they are competing in three rounds, showing what they can do under these extreme conditions of force 10 storms, with windspeeds around 100km/h and waves up to 10m high!

It was a great pleasure to design all these different heavy weather atmospheres and huge wave sounds in order to convey the tension and mixed feelings of the riders, facing the unleashed power of nature.

I have finished the complete Foley recording and editing for "A SINGLE SHOT" by director David M. Rosenthal, which will world-premiere at Berlinale 2013!

The cinema feature is based on the same-titled novel by writer Matthew F. Jones and is starring the wonderful Sam Rockwell (Assassination of Jesse James, 7 Psychos, Green Mile). In supporting roles we see William H. Macy (Fargo), Jeffrey Wright, Kelly Reilly, Melissa Leo, Joe Anderson and many more.

A single wrong shot "starts a tense and atmospheric game of cat and mouse between hunter John Moon and the hardened backwater criminals out for his blood." (IMDb)

Sound design by Sound Disposition, London, mixed at Sharpe Sound, Vancouver.

"DIE SCHLÄFER" Radio Play Sounddesign

I have finished the complete sound design and Foley work for "DIE SCHLAEFER" by Torsten Gellrich.

The 2.5h radio play is almost entirely set in Antarctica and the research base Darwin, where researchers are trying to reach Lake Vostok. For 30 million years, this underground lake is cut off from the outside world by 4km of ice.

When the researchers manage to get some interesting organic samples from down there, things start turning into an exciting science thriller!

While I had great fun creating the sound design, Foley, sound effects, atmospheres and doing the premix, the speaking roles have been recorded by radio play veteran and mixer Kay Poppe (Wallander).
